Neptunes to host weekend swim meet

The Nevada Neptunes swim team will be holding their first major two-day meet this weekend. The event will be held at Nevada Walton Park Pool, located at the corner of Atlantic and Ash and is expected to draw 300-500 swimmers from several different cities and towns. This meet, open to boys and girls age 5-18, is expected to bring in as many as 1,000-1,500 people in total. "We're expecting a real good turnout," said Mike McCaffree of the expected crowd...

The MLRA is coming! Next week our track will have special races with the MLRA cars adding to all the excitement with a lot of new cars joining in the racing. A big full moon shown over the racetrack which always makes for more action. This week we had a car catch on fire, no one was hurt as the officials quickly extinguished the blaze. Hume schools report $16,000 in damage from June storm

A recent report to the Hume school board revealed that repairs of damages to the property from a June 3 storm could take some time to complete. The school's shop building was the most heavily affected, with damage to the roof and windows. Fireworks display to take place on July 4

E-coli test in Sheldon water a false alarm

Sheldon residents are worried after word about a positive test for E-coli spread through the town, an anonymous caller to the Daily Mail offices said. Responding to questions, Becky Morgan, Sheldon city clerk, said that there was a test that came back positive, but that it was one test out of many that came back negative and re-testing did not find any positive results...
