Estate auctions are a bit new to me having moved here from Dallas, Texas. In Dallas, estate sales are managed much like a garage sale with a staff of people pricing everything in and around the home and tending to the sale for several days. On the first day or two, everything is priced up a little more than the common garage sale with the final day being a 50 percent mark down. If you see something you like, you buy it right then or wait and see if it's still there on bargain day...

St. Clair County jury commits Nevada man as sexually violent predator

A St. Clair County jury found Terry Blackmon of Nevada to be a sexually violent predator and committed him to the state treatment center in Farmington. Circuit Judge William J. Roberts signed the judgment and commitment order. According to information provided by the Missouri Attorney General's Office, the office had sought to have Blackmon committed as a sexually violent predator due to his 1991 conviction in Vernon County for rape involving a 5-year-old girl. ...
