Bridge work begins soon

The Stewart Creek bridge on Route D between Routes BB and OO will be closed beginning Monday, March 23 for bridge replacement. The bridge, which was built in 1954, will be closed until mid-May. Sprouls Construction of Lamar was awarded the $546,406 Safe & Sound bid to replace the Route D bridge and the Route M bridge in Vernon County. The Route M replacement will start in June. The bridge program improves 802 of the state's lowest-rated bridges in five years...
