Challenge offers 'Biggest Loser'-style community competition

Next week, a special community-wide challenge begins in Nevada. Known as the Wellness Challenge. Developed by Samantha Gilmore, wellness director at the Osage Prairie YMCA, the program is similar in some ways to The Biggest Loser. Participants in the free challenge, which begins March 28, earn points by losing weight and taking part in a wide variety of activities they select and log, ranging from exercise to family time to community service. ...

Most American hospitals have been slow to get thoroughly computerized, but Nevada Regional Medical Center has gotten ahead of the curve with a $2 million system giving nurses, doctors and other professionals the newest in medical technology.
