Clear Creek write-in results are clarified

A write-in candidacy in Clear Creek Township garnered 39 votes in Tuesday's election, but did not succeed because those ballots were divided between the township's board and trustee races. Attributing the results to "miscommunication" before the Tuesday election, Vernon County Clerk Tammi Beach said Thursday that Gary Speight had signed up for the town board race, but his supporters mistakenly divided their votes between that and the trustee's race against Gene Lowe, who received 26 votes...
