John Norman Harding, 66, Nevada, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 19, 2011. John was born on March 14, 1945, in Osawatomie, Kan., to Thomas Harding and Louise B. Harding. John was preceded in death by his wife, EvaLena, in 1983. He was a mechanic all his life and has resided in Nevada for the past five years...

Vernon County People for Pets will stage a fundraiser today at Osage Prairie Miniature Golf Course to raise money for vaccinating, spaying and neutering lost or abandoned pets. Club spokesman Cecil Pritchett said the group's big costumed mascot, "Fido," will have his photo taken with visitors for $10 each.
