Howard Udene Dale, 93, passed away peacefully of natural causes on April 20, 2013, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Mo., where he had been a resident for the past eight years. Howard grew up in Vernon County on the family farm of his parents, Isaac Francis "Frank" and Anna McMaster Dale. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1938 and earned a degree in Animal Husbandry from the University of Missouri-Columbia...

A California man is in custody following the investigation of a car theft. The Nevada Police Department, working with Harrisonville police, recovered the stolen auto and made an arrest stemming from an incident Sept. 9. At approximately 5 p.m., Nevada officers received a report of a stolen vehicle in the 200 Block of N. Elm Street. The victim reported her vehicle, along with other personal items, had been taken while she was at work. The vehicle was left unsecured with the keys inside the car...
