William R. "Bill" Woods, of Independence, Mo., born March 29, 1933, in Nevada, Mo., passed away Sept. 6, 2014, at Kansas City Hospice House, in Kansas City, Mo. Bill graduated from Nevada High School at the age of 16, joined the army in 1950 and spent his "18th birthday in a foxhole in Korea."
