NHS alum Kerbs named freshman basketball coach

Former Nevada High School two-sport standout Cory Kerbs was recently tabbed as the school's freshman boys basketball coach, as well as assistant varsity hoops coach on Shaun Gray's coaching staff. Kerbs replaces Blake Howarth as NHS freshman coach. Howarth was also an assistant on Gray's varsity staff. August always brings with it nostalgic memories for me. Two vivid recollections include watermelons and a fiddler. Both reminiscences from my youth are connected to the Sheldon Old Settlers Picnic.
