The Nevada Griffons as a team collectively tore the cover off the ball this season. Nevada boasted plenty of firepower, leading the MINK League in multiple offensive categories during its 42-game regular season conference slate. Former Nevada High School two-sport standout Cory Kerbs was recently tabbed as the school's freshman boys basketball coach, as well as assistant varsity hoops coach on Shaun Gray's coaching staff. Kerbs replaces Blake Howarth as NHS freshman coach. Howarth was also an assistant on Gray's varsity staff. The school announced in May that Howarth had been promoted to the position of Lady Tigers associate head basketball coach...

August always brings with it nostalgic memories for me. Two vivid recollections include watermelons and a fiddler. Both reminiscences from my youth are connected to the Sheldon Old Settlers Picnic.
