I was passing by someone in Wal-Mart when I noticed the person I was passing had been in the Vernon County Jail many times. Most of the time, this type of encounter does not lead to a pleasant conversation or a friendly smile; but in this case, the gentlemen asked how I was doing and then began to tell me about his new job, and his efforts of getting his life back on track.He also asked me to thank the jail staff, and the deputies he had dealt with in the past for helping him...

Hi neighbors. I'm writing this before the election results are in; but no matter who won, I am so glad this race is over! There has been much uproar and mud slinging on both sides. People seem fevered over their chosen candidate. Now that the race is won (for one and lost for another) maybe we can all get over politics and get back to taking care of our families and country...

The 19th annual Stockton Lake Managed Deer Hunt for hunters who have physical disabilities was held this past weekend, before the regular statewide firearm deer season.
