William E. Wynn Jr., 82, Nevada, passed away surrounded by family on Sept. 21, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield Mo. Son of William Edward and Edith Litty Wynn, he was born in St. Louis, Mo., May 24, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, David Wynn; and sister, Connie Wynn Woolf. ...

Billy Joe Willis, 60, Sheldon, died Sunday, Sept. 17. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 29, at the Sheldon Baptist Church, Sheldon. Additional information will be announced later by Ferry Funeral Home.

After a slow start to the season, the Cottey Comets volleyball team is making major strides on the court, as evidenced by Friday night’s four-set victory over visiting East Central College at Hinkhouse Center.
