Sylvia Ann Bobbett, 79, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, in Salina, Kan. She was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Pueblo, Colo., to Carlo and Saveria “Sylvia” (Gagliano) Martellaro. Sylvia married Darrell Bobbett in Pueblo on June 8, 1959. They were longtime residents of Kanopolis, Kan., where she was a homemaker, mom, grandma and great-grandma. Danny Lane Compton 77, of Harwood, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25. Danny was born Sept. 12, 1940, in rural Concord, Mo., the son of Leland Elbert and Della Lela (Hendrix) Compton. This January has given us a sizable amount of snow; however, those who are middle age plus can remember much deeper snowfalls. Some of my happiest days occurred when the snow was several inches deep.
