When it comes to health measures the gold standard in county health rankings is the annual report published by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). The 2019 report came out on Tuesday morning and it brings mixed results for Vernon County. According to the 2019 RWJF County Health Rankings, St. Charles County (just west of St. Louis) ranks healthiest among Missouri’s 114 counties plus the City of St. Louis while Pemiscot County in the bootheel is the least healthy county in the state...

Ada Louise Jenkins, 78, Nevada, Mo., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 18, 2019, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Ada was born Feb. 27, 1941, in Rich Hill, Mo., to John F. and Ida E.
