Missourians are no strangers to extreme temperature and climate changes. In this case, SW Missouri is slated to be inundated with a long-lasting and intensive heat wave, as Missouri and Kansas are near the epicenter of a massive heat dome. Vernon County Health Department to no longer issue releases for each positive COVID-19 case

The Vernon County Health Department announced in a social media post Monday that they "will no longer be making individual press releases related to positive COVID-19 cases unless we determine there is a risk for community exposure. This decision was made due to the amount of time each case investigation and contact tracing takes along with the other duties of our office. We will make weekly updates on Monday morning."...
