Just when the Sheldon High School baseball team looked like it had its pitching problems solved Monday afternoon at Lakeland — or at least enough offense to overcome them — the walks did the Panthers in. Despite a 4-0 head start to open the game, Sheldon awarded too many Lakeland batters a base on balls and let the Vikings not only regain the lead but extend it beyond reach. The Cottey College softball team crushed the Royals of Ecclesia College Monday afternoon in Springdale, Ark., no-hitting them for an 18-0 victory in the opener before cruising to a 20-3 victory in the nightcap.
