Nevada's Hines, Rea, and Swearingen named finalists for MO HOF Sports Commission Awards

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame named Nevada High School senior swimmer Ben Hines, junior golfer Owen Swearingen, and junior tennis player Evan Rea as finalists for this year’s Sports Commission Awards. At a ceremony to take place between 6-8:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, the multiple-time MSHSAA Class 1 state champion Hines — who will swim for the University of Alabama starting in the fall — Swearingen — who placed second at the Class 3 state golf tournament this past spring — and Rea — who qualified for the Class 1 state tennis championship — will be in the running along with five other athletes in their respective sports for the awards, which honor the top high schoolers in southwest Missouri athletics...
