During this week's regular Nevada City Council meeting, City Manager Mark Mitchell announced that the Walton Aquatic Center would, most likely, remain closed for the 2022 season. Citing multiple structural issues, Mitchell referred to a map of the pool (pictured at right) to explain the problems the center is currently facing. These issues include the overflow channel needing caulking. This will require the removal of the concrete drain covers and caulking the drain channel (yellow line on map)...
