The Nevada City Council met in regular session Tuesday evening. Starting off the meeting, Mayor George Knox read a pair of proclamations. The first proclamation declared May 9-13, 2022, as Economical Development Week. Mayor Knox read the proclamation, which noted, “Economic development promotes economic well-being and quality of life for the communities by creating, retaining, and expanding jobs that facilitate growth, enhance wealth, and provide a stable tax base.” He further stated, “The City of Nevada recognizes the week of May 9 through May 13, 2022, as Economic Development Week in support of the International Economic Development Council and Build VC (Vernon County Economic Development), and reminds individuals of the importance of this community celebration which supports expanding career opportunities and making lives better.”. ...
