Earp Park to close beginning Aug. 28, for improvements

Starting Monday, Aug. 28, Claude C. Earp Memorial Park will be closed to the public. City crews will be working to prepare the area for improvements which include new sidewalks, benches, light poles, landscaping, water fountain and signage. Funding for the renovations is made possible by a ½ sales tax, approved by voters in 2005, and contributions from the Nevada Lion’s Club as part of their 100-year celebration of service to the community...

Walton Aquatic Center presentation slated for Tuesday's Nevada City Council meeting

The Nevada City Council will hear the highly anticipated presentation from Waters Edge Aquatic Design during their regular meeting this evening at 7 p.m., in the council chambers. Waters Edge will present the "Aquatic Center Feasibility Study," the final step in the project timeline. Nevada High School Lady Tiger Softball player, Peyton Eaton, recently returned from Australia after being chosen to play for one of six America’s Teams at the 2023 Softball New South Wales International Cup. The SNSW International Cup featured teams from the United States, Australia, New Zealand & Canberra Pride and took place July 10-12, at the Blacktown International Sports Park, Sydney, Australia.
