NMS 8th graders keep perfect streaks alive

Nevada Daily Mail CARTHAGE, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School eighth-grade volleyball teams remained undefeated with victories over Carthage on Tuesday. The "A" team (4-0) needed three games, but disposed of Carthage in dominating fashion with a 15-6 match winner. The first two games were highly competitive as Nevada dropped the first, 22-25, then squeaked out a win in the second, 26-24. Lindsey Rice and Bethany Moore led the Tigers with eight and seven points, respectively. The "B" squad (4-0) had a tough first game, edging Carthage 25-22, then went on to a 25-11 win in the second to capture the match. Emma Dreyer paced Nevada with nine points, Caedran Audley added eight and Kourtni Gilmore seven.
