NHS golfers edged by Carl Junction

Only four strokes separated Nevada and Carl Junction in a dual match at Briarbrook Country Club on Monday. The Tigers' 239 fell short of Carl Junction's 235 score. "Monday matches are always tough to be ready for after a weekend off from practice," said Nevada coach Kelly Gray. Eleanor Horst carded a 58 in the nine-hole match, just ahead of Sara Copeland with a 59 and Emily Benbrook's 60. Tabitha Pitts shot a 62 to round out the balanced scoring for the Tigers. The fifth Nevada competitor was Rachel Prewitt, who shot a 66. Medalist honors went to Carl Junction's Lindsey Eddy, who shot a 51. Nevada hosts Pleasant Hill at Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course on Thursday at 3:30.
