HUME, Mo. -- Hume kept its unblemished Vernon County Conference volleyball record intact with a win over Northeast Vernon County on Tuesday. The Hornets, 4-0 in the conference, defeated the NEVC Knights 25-8, 33-31. "We worked hard all week and were prepared for the match," said Hume coach Amy Patterson. "After a rout in the first game, we thought it was going to be easy, but my girls pulled it out and we got them in two." Nicole Hinton and Janine Castillo led the Hornets with 13 service points apiece, while Kayla Morrison and Cindy Murdock chipped in with 10 and nine, respectively. Kayla O'Rear topped the assists stats with 14 and Hinton and Morrison led in solo blocks with two each.
