Both the Nevada Middle School seventh-grade "A" and "B" teams suffered shutout defeats at the hands of the Carthage Tigers on Tuesday at Lyons Stadium. The Nevada "A" team (2-1) fell 18-0 to Carthage, while the "B" squad lost 12-0. "Carthage has a great team," said Nevada coach Tom Davis. "I think we got beat by a better team tonight, but I was proud of our kids. They never stopped playing; they never gave up. But, right now, they're (Carthage) just better. Luckily, for the kids, they'll get to play 'em again next year and into high school, so our job is to get ready for our next opponent." In the "A" game, Carthage scored on runs of 2, 15 (double reverse) and 95 yards.
