Josephine Ida Fassel

Josephine Ida Fassel, 80, formerly of Schell City, Mo., died Dec. 1, 2003, at Barone Alzheimer Care Center. She was born on June 13, 1923, in Lincoln, R.I., to Arthur Garfield and Bessie Olivia (Parsons) Smith. On Aug. 20, 1941, she married Albert Earl Fassel in Cranston, R.I.

She attended school in Rhode Island. She relocated to the Schell City area and worked at the State Hospital. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Schell City, Rebekah's, Walker, Mo., and Lady of the Moose.

She is survived by her husband, Albert, of the home in Schell City; three daughters, Sharon Mitchell, Walker, Mo., Alida Taylor, Walker, Mo., Kathleen Robertson, Vancouver, Wash.; one brother; one son, Earl Fassel, Walker, Mo.; three sisters; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Schell City Christian Church, with Pastor Tim Brewer officiating. The Souza family will sing. Sharon Goodman will provide accompaniment. Pallbearers will be Mark Mitchell, Leroy Taylor, Daren Taylor, Gary Taylor, Gerald Jones and Rob Fassel. Honorary pallbearer is Jeremy Watts.

The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City, Mo. Memorials can be made to the Barone Alzheimer Care Center care of the funeral home.
