Tiger wrestlers walloped by Carthage

CARTHAGE, Mo. -- The Nevada Tiger wrestling team was defeated 62-16 by Carthage in a Southwest Conference match on Thursday.

Nevada winners were John Christie, who won by pin in the 135-pound class; Zach Walrod, winner by pin in the 145-pound class; and Leonard Keller, winner by major decision in the heavyweight division.

Four forfeits and an injury default accounted for 30 Carthage points.

Nevada hosts a junior varsity tournament on Saturday at 8 p.m.

The varsity returns to action against conference rival Webb City on Monday at 6 p.m.
