Flames engulf Richards home

Deerfield volunteer firefighter Kevin Sisseck helps battle a housefire in Richards Tuesday, at about 1 p.m., where firefighters from several area fire departments responded with tankers to battle the blaze in this home. Despite firefighter's efforts, the home was completely gutted by fire. Flames were so hot at one point that siding on an adjacent home melted. No one was injured. Firefighters said the blaze appeared to have originated on the back porch, but the exact cause of the fire is unknown, pending investigation by state fire marshals.
