Motorcyclists compete in Oklahoma

Local motocross racers participated in the 1st Oklahoma State Motocross Series on Sunday, January 25.

Featuring 600 riders in the eight-race series, the event was held at Sooner State Cycle Park in Wellston, Okla.

Mike Forkner of Richards, Mo., placed fourth in the 40-and-over class, with a field of 21 racers.

Andy Collins, Moundville, Mo., finished 24th in the 125 cc novice class, with 55 competing.

Mike Thompson, Moundville, Mo., was eighth of 19 riders in the 250 cc beginner division.

David Klump, Deerfield, Mo., finished second in the 125 cc beginner class.

Six-year-old Austin Forkner, Richards, Mo., took fourth in the the 20-rider field in the 4-6 age group, 50 cc class.
