Bronaugh boys slam Sheldon

Wednesday, February 11, 2004

The Bronaugh Wildcats had a relatively easy time with winless Sheldon on Tuesday.

The 60-26 win lifted the Wildcats' record to 13-5.

"After a slow start in which we allowed 12 points in the first five minutes of the game, we picked up the defensive intensity, creating some turnovers for easy transition baskets," said Bronaugh coach Tim Judd.

A 40-8 edge in the middle quarters keyed the rout, as reserves played the entire fourth period.

Tyler Judd led Bronaugh with 22 points, while John Whitworth and Jack Daniels added 14 and 12, respectively.

Andrew Leavell topped Sheldon with 12.

On the girls' side, Sheldon defeated Bronaugh 48-25.

Chessie Baxter led the Lady Panthers with 15 points. Stanie Garr chipped in with 10 and Jessie Moore added nine.

Erica Householder paced the Lady Wildcats with seven.
