Sheldon FFA students attend workshop and meet President Bush

On Monday, Feb. 9, 16 Exploring Agriculture students from the Sheldon FFA Chapter traveled to Springfield to participate in an educational workshop called "If I Had A Hammer," hosted by Ozarks Technical Community College. The program integrates academic subject matter with fun, hands-on activities. The students worked as a group to assemble an 8-by-11-foot house in less than two hours. The finished structure was complete with windows, a door and a front porch. "Aside from the practical application of math, science and communication arts concepts, the students gained work experience and a powerful sense of accomplishment," said Garrison.
