Paul C. Jeans

Paul C. Jeans, 96, of Cocoa, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004.

He retired in 1970 from the Army Corps of Engineers as chief of electrical inspection for the Canaveral District. A Navy veteran, he served as leading chief of Boca Chica Naval Air Station in Key West, Fla., during World War II and received a Presidential Unit Citation from President Harry Truman.

Mr. Jeans was a charter member of the Canaveral Society, Society of American Military Engineers and a 40-year member of the IBEW. A Master Mason since 1936, he was the youngest person to serve as Master of his lodge. He was also a member of the American Legion for 60 years and a life member of the NRA.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Louila Jeans, Cocoa, Fla., a daughter, Paulette Statlick and granddaughter, Jennifer Statlick, both of Palm Bay, Fla.
