Edward M. Kibler Jr

Edward M. Kibler Jr., 85, Nevada, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born November 6, 1918, in Nevada, to Edward M. Kibler Sr. and Mattie Opal Dennis Kibler. He was married July 10, 1937, in Nevada, to Velma Treat Kibler. She preceded him in death August 6,1998.

Mr. Kibler was a member of the Nevada First Christian Church. He served from 1944 to 1946 in the United State Navy during WW 11. He worked for 39 1/2 years for the Missouri Department of Transportation, retiring in the fall of 1980. He was a 50 year member of the Windsor Masonic Lodge No. 29 and had been a past Worshipful Master. He was a member of the Wrangler's Saddle Club in Nevada and belonged to the Nevada Farmer's Market for many years. Survivors include, one son, Jerry E. Kibler, Nevada; one daughter, Barbara L. Turk, Nevada; one grandchild and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Velma; and one sister, Louise Greer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 19, at Milster Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with full military honors provided by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program.

Friends may call after 12 noon on Saturday and until the hour of service at Milster Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 7 and 8 p.m. with Masonic Rites being held a 7 p.m.
