Edith Mae Rider

Edith Mae Rider 72,, formerly of Nevada, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Macon Healthcare in Macon, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born on Sep. 1, 1931, in Lewistown, Mo., to Ralph Edward Fink and Mabel Mae Benner Fink. She married Lovell Glen Rider in June 1960 in Girard, Kan., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1997.

She graduated from a Catholic high school in Detroit, Mich. She lived in Nevada and Vernon County for many years. She worked at Key Work Clothes and Nellie Don during the 1960s. She was a nurse's aide at Nevada City Hospital during the hate 1970s. She moved to La Plata, MO. in 2003 to be near her daughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Quackenbush, Livingston, La., Debra Smith, La Plata, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; two stepsons, Mike Rider and Steve Rider, both of Denham Springs, La., and one stepdaughter, Elaine Hudson, Holt, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 17, at Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Friends may call now and until 10 a.m. on Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
