A distressing accident at Sheldon Monday

Shotgun thought not to have been loaded was discharged, causing Ed Odle to lose his left hand.

A very distressing accident occurred at Sheldon Monday, in which a double-barreled shotgun supposed not to have been loaded was discharged causing Edward Odle to lose his left hand.

It seems that as Mr. Odle attempted to take the gun out of an automobile, one barrel of the gun was loaded and was discharged, the shot striking his left hand.

He was taken immediately to Dr. Altham's office and the doctor found that Odle's hand was so badly mangled that amputation was necessary.

Hunt for a prowler

Police scouring the city for culprit; no trace found to date

For the past six weeks Nevada police have been concentrating on apprehending a window-peeper prowler who reportedly is harassing the residential sections of the city. To date the officers haven't met with much luck in getting the phantom-like individual.

City manager Tom Herring said today police have been deluged with calls over the period some of which have been classified as genuine and many others which are, in the opinion of the police, the results of householder's imagination.
