The Nevada Tiger freshman team won their first game of the season Tuesday, beating McDonald County 32-0.

The game was close in the first half, as the only scoring came on a touchdown by Nevada's Aaron Dade in the second quarter. After a two-point conversion the Tigers led 8-0 at halftime.

In the second half it was all Nevada.

Ryan Herda and Kyle Hughes each scored twice and the Tigers were able to roll to an easy victory.

"It went pretty good overall," freshman team head coach Warren Langford said.

Langford was particularly pleased with the way his team played defensively, keeping McDonald County from getting on the board.

"They played really well on defense," Langford said of his team. "Offensively we had a few miscues and fumbles."

The Tigers were able to overcome the miscues in the second half when they opened up the game.

The Tigers are in action again Monday when they host El Dorado Springs.

The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Logan Field.
