The Nevada Middle School Tigers began their season on Tuesday, with the seventh-grade teams splitting a pair with Webb City at Logan Field.

Each team brought two squads to the game, with the Nevada B-team beating the Webb City B-team 16-14.

Nevada used a strong running attack to win the game.

In the battle of A-teams, Webb City had a big pass-play on third and long that went for a score, the only points put on the board by either squad. Webb City won the game 8-0.

Both defenses played well in this contest. Nevada had a chance to tie the game at the end as they drove to the Webb City 5-yard line with under a minute to go. The Tigers were unable to come away with any points and the game ended with just one score.

Nevada is at home again this Tuesday.
