Deaths

Russell L. Robison

Russell L. Robison, 80, died Sept. 22, 2004. Services were held at Green Mound Cemetery on Sept. 25, 2004, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Charles Brown officiating. Music was by the Mennonite Church Choir. Interment was in Green Mound Cemetery in Harwood. Arrangements were by Ferry Funeral Home.

Kenneth Franklin Hedrick

Kenneth Franklin Hedrick, 50, Nevada, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center. He was born April 24, 1954, in Pettis County, Mo., to Junior Monteer and Leana Christine Hedrick.

Committal services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Nevada.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home.

James M. Houchin Sr.

James M. Houchin Sr., 71, Walker, died Sept. 24, 2004, at his residence. He was born on Oct. 10, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., to Jess and Lillian Copher Houchin. He married Corla Bauer on Feb. 19, 1954, in Kansas City, Kan.

He was a Korean Era veteran. He worked as an electrician until retirement. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Walker.

He is survived by one son, James Melvin Houchin, Nevada; two daughters, Dawn Odom, Nevada, and Roxane Chapman, Walker; two brothers, Harold Houchin, Kansas City, Mo., and Donald Houchin, of the state of Minnesota; six sisters, Marjorie Murdock, Kansas City, Mo., Mary Margaret Sharperel, Kansas City, Mo., Helen Holt, Independence, Mo., Carol Daniels-Walker, St. Louis, Rosemary Patterson, of the state of Texas, and Denise Oresteen, of the state of Minnesota; stepmother, Alice Martin, of the state of Indiana; one aunt; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Gertrude White; two brothers, John Franke and Paul Nall; and one grandson, Jeffrey Ramsey.

Graveside services will be held at Mount Vernon Cemetery near Dederick on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Charlie Brown officiating. Friends may call at Evergreen Memorial Chapel on Monday after 9 a.m. Memorials are suggested to the Nevada Regional Medical Center Home Health and Hospice or the Walker Rural Fire Department in care of Evergreen Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
