NMS wrestlers compete in Kansas meet

Nevada Middle School had 18 wrestlers competing at a meet in Columbus, Kan., Saturday.

Three wrestlers placed first in their weight class, while three others finished second and one finished third.

Donick Habjan won the B-bracket of the 85-pound weight class, winning both of his matches.

Tyler Quick also won the B-bracket, only he did so in the 95-pound class by going 3-0.

Wyatt Whitworth won the B-bracket in the 100-pound class by going 6-0.

The second place finishers were Scotty Bough in the 95-pound weight class in the A-bracket, Colby Shepherd in the 134-pound weight class A-bracket, and Jordan Hagerman in the 134-pound class in the B-bracket. Each of the second-place winners were 2-1.

Getting third in the 155-pound weight class was Lawrence Shouse, who went 2-1 in the A-bracket.

The middle school team has two meets this week, one today at Webb City and another on Thursday when they host a triangular with Carthage and Harrisonville.
