Although the Harrisonville eighth grade girls A team led the game most of the night it came right down to the final buzzer before the Tigers lost their final basketball home game of the season 33-35.

"We got off to a slow start, but we came back to dominate them in the second half," Chris Garzone, eighth grade girls basketball coach, said.

The Tigers took an early 4-0 lead that quickly turned to 4-6 deficit as the Wildcats picked up baskets. At one time, early in the third period, the Wildcats led 26-13 before the Tigers started to score.

During the second half the Tigers came out and scored 20 points, despite missing most of their free throws, while holding the Wildcats to nine points to close the gap to two points.

The loss Monday night drops the A team to 4-5 with one tournament and a game with Webb City left to finish their season. Taylor Means led the Tigers with 12 points followed by Heidi Wilson with 8 points and Jordan Bell with 7 points. Earlier in the evening the Nevada B team won their game with the Wildcats 31-13 to give them a 5-4 record for the season to date.
