Kenneth Wayne Wallace, 69, Nevada, formerly of Archie, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., following a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Excelsior Springs, Mo., to Rial Hunt Wallace and Marjorie Rella Riley Dodd. He married Shirley Ann Burris on Oct. 29, 1955, and she preceded him in death. He then married S. Irene Henderson on Nov. 30, 1975, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

He was raised in Vernon County and spent the majority of his life here. He retired as an iron worker in 1990 after 30 years with Local No. 10 in Kansas City, Mo.

Along with his wife Irene, he is survived by five children, Kurtis Wallace, Huntsville, Mo., Debbie Wallace and Tammy Kahl, Fayetteville, Ark., Madorie Needs, Harrisonville, Mo., and Randy Wallace, Paris, Ark.; three step-children, Candis Mainard, Raymore, Mo., Rhonda Staton, Ottawa, Kan., and Jackie Ammerman, Archie, Mo.; two brothers, Gaylord Wallace, Sheldon, and Richard Wallace, Brazil, Ind.; four sisters, Dorothy Henimer, El Dorado Springs, Betty Wilhite, Lamar, Glora Estes, El Dorado Springs, and Glenda Thomas, Sheldon; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one step-son, Billy Henderson; and one granddaughter, Angie Leann Abbott.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Milford, Mo.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon between 1 and 2 p.m.
