The Northeast Vernon County basketball teams had trouble in Jasper Thursday, as the boys fell 79-36 and the girls lost 67-26.

The boys dropped to 1-3 this season as senior Jarred Taylor's 16 points was not enough to lead the Knights. Fellow senior Steve Koshko had 14 for NEVC.

The girls were led once again by senior Katie Foreman's 15 points, but it was not enough to keep this one close. The Lady Knights are still searching for their first win of the season in four games.

In both contests Jasper jumped out to early leads and cruised. In the boys game it was 24-10 after one quarter and in the girls game Jasper led 29-1 after one period.

The NEVC basketball teams do not have much time to think about the losses as they return home tonight for conference games against Chilhowee starting at 5:30 p.m. in Walker.
