Friday, January 14, 2005

During the month of January, officers of the Nevada Police Department have several dates scheduled for concentrated traffic enforcement on U.S. 54 Highway. According to a release from the Nevada Police Department, officers have a goal of reducing accidents on this stretch of highway.

Officers will be checking for violations such as driving while intoxicated, following too closely, careless and imprudent driving, stop sign and stop light violations, failing to yield, speeding, and seat belt and child restraint violations.

A Highway Safety grant funds overtime pay for participating officers.
