Nevada youth wrestlers keep to the mat

The Nevada Youth Wrestling Club continued their winter weekend journey Saturday and Sunday as there were eight wrestlers who traveled to Seneca for a tournament.

Saturday, Zach Shepherd was the only Nevada wrestler to win first, but there were six others who placed.

Caleb Shanks, Slade Stiles and Jordan Hagerman all came home with second-place prizes.

Todd Brier placed third, while Dylan Hyder and Brett Scott each got fourth.

On Sunday there was a novice tournament, also in Seneca.

Skyler Scotten, Regar Hardin, Slade Stiles and True Beisly each won classes, with Beisly winning two.

Dylan Hyder placed second and Stiles finished second in another class. Brett Scott again placed fourth.

In other news, on Dec. 18, Nicholas Conner got first place in Diamond. Getting second in the same tournament was Sam Ellifrits. Placing third was Chase Brooks. Daxtyn Osburn, Tarez McNack, Tanner Charles and Scotty Bough each finished fourth.

On Dec. 19, Hyder, Beisly and Stiles got wins, while Hardin, McNack and Trevor Hunholz were second. Chance Mays and Zane Shepherd placed fourth.
