Russell Roy Sadler

Russell Roy Sadler, 67, Nevada, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 23, 2005, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada, following a sudden illness. He was born Dec. 5, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo., to Theodore Sadler and Nellie Guffey Sadler. He married Sherry L. White Vogel on Dec. 12, 1992, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

Russell came to Nevada in 1950 with his family. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1956. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nevada. His memberships included the Nevada Elks Lodge, Nevada Country Club, Nevada Eagles Lodge, Cedar Cove Resort of Grove, Okla., and served on the board of directors of the Vernon County Historical Society. He was inducted into the Nevada Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Sherry, of the home, include one daughter, Mindy Garcia and her husband, Greg, Tulsa, Okla.; two granddaughters, Hayley Garcia and Audrey Garcia, both of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Dr. T.R. Sadler, Grand Junction, Colo., and Robert Sadler, Barnard, Mo.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicky and Gary Headley, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Father Anthony Pileggi officiating. A private committal will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
