Elementary students from Sheldon prepare to lower the face-masks on their welding masks while Sheldon FFA President Jared McPeak gives a demonstration on arc welding. Members of the Sheldon FFA chapter capped off FFA Week with their Food for America program. FFA members presented information about poultry, dairy, soybeans, wheat, corn, beef cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, conservation, arc welding and tractor safety. Students from the Sheldon school, as well as some community members, left the presentations with a better understanding of how the agriculture industry works. Tyler Garrison, Sheldon FFA advisor, said that he wanted to thank the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Missouri Sow Center and Deems John Deere for their support of the event.
