100 years ago:

New railroad line under consideration

The mass meeting of citizens held last night at the Commercial Club rooms to consider the new railroad proposition was the largest and most enthusiastic gathering of citizens ever assembled in the club rooms. Last night's meeting demonstrated the fact beyond a doubt that Nevadans are deeply interested in the proposed Nevada and Springfield railway line and must have been convincing evidence to President McDonough that Nevada citizens were fully in sympathy with his efforts to construct the line.

75 years ago:

Bryan harmonica club to play Sunday night

The Bryan School Harmonica Club, composed of more than 30 children, will be presented Sunday evening at the Christian Church as the feature of the service.

This club is known among the schools as one of the best of its kind in Nevada. The children are well trained and play some excellent numbers. They will play, "Onward Christian Soldiers" and "America the Beautiful," as their special numbers Sunday night.

50 years ago:

Cottey Chapel to be built

Mrs. J.B. Tomhave, Montevideo, Minn., president of the Supreme Council of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, informed the Daily Mail today that construction is assured for a chapel building on the campus of Cottey College.

The chapel will be of Gregorian Colonial styling, in harmony with other buildings on the campus.
