Michaela Anne Quinley-Davison and Christian Andrew Nuckels exchanged wedding vows on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in the Southmont Baptist Church in Denton, Texas, where the couple are members. Dr. Larry Reynolds, pastor of Southmont, whose message to the couple and guests on the significance and importance of family in Biblical times and in contemporary society as the foundation for marriage, solemnized the vows of the ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Brent and Reina Davison, Denton, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Marvin and Betty Davison, Nevada, Mo., and Francisco and Judith Molina-Guillen, Largo, Fla., and great-granddaughter of Marjorie Young of Nevada.

The groom is the son of Earl and Martha Nuckels, Denton. His maternal grandmother is Alma Jean Christian of Denton.

The bride wore an Oleg Cassini of New York Couture Design, a strapless mock two-piece gown in white matte satin with gold and silver tone embroidery, miniature pearls and sequins on the bodice front, and covered buttons on the bodice back; accessorized by matte white satin elbow-length gloves. The skirt of matching white matte satin was floor length and A-line in shape. The gown was fashioned with a Victorian Apron back which opened to a satin train with an organza overlay. The gown's chapel-length train was trimmed with matching gold and silver tone embroidery, which French bustled-up, to complete the reception ensemble. Her matching headpiece was a scalloped gold tone tiara with pearls and rhinestones. The veil, was of finger tip-length and accented with a white satin corded edge on each of its two tiers.

Rachel Simpson attended the bride, her friend, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were friend Renee Knox; and sorority sisters Amanda Bell, Jessica DeRoche, Stacy Dooley and Kari Bailey. Junior bridesmaids were Gabrielle and Victoria Davison, sisters of the bride.

A design of the Bill Levkoff Company of New York, the bridesmaids' gowns were two-piece strapless fashions of European navy satin. The strapless bustier bodices of the gowns were complemented by the A-line skirt and matching satin shawl carried by each bridesmaid. The junior bridesmaids wore the same basic design, with the exception of the inclusion of shoulder straps and A-line godet skirts.

Flower girl Christina Colon, cousin of the bride, wore a toddler-size gown and gloves identical to the bride, enhanced by a scalloped rhinestone tiara.

The mother of the bride wore a Bill Levkoff Company designer gown in European wine satin. The bodice of the two-piece gown featured a princess seam Victorian mock corset top, lace up back and A-line godet skirt. Delicate wine embroidery and miniature sequins embellished the bodice neckline and off-the-shoulder straps. Wine elbow-length gloves completed the ensemble.

Micah Bailey served his friend as best man. Groomsmen were a the groom's brother Jordan Nuckels, friend Andrew Null, and fraternity brothers Michael DeRoche, Vernell Dooley and Jordan Bailey. Kyle Johnson, cousin of the bride, served as ringbearer.

Ushers were fraternity brother David Ladage, friends Jody Little, Jon Moncrief and Jason Ryan, and Samuel Taylor, cousin of groom.

Aryn Whitehead and Ashley Davison, both cousins of the bride, served as candlelighters.

Other attendants included: Ken Chang, friend of the bride; Robert Christian, cousin of groom; and sorority sisters Erica Pasvar, Sally Patterson and Leslie Reed.

A jazz band entertained guests at the reception held at the Oakmont Country Club, Corinth, Texas. The band, consisting of vocalist Huldegunn Surdal, piano, bass, drums, saxophone and guitar, performed music in the style of jazz and pop, as well as some traditional Christmas music.

Following a honeymoon to Cozumel, Mexico, the newlyweds will make their home in Lewisville, Texas. Both are students at the University of North Texas at Denton. The bride is a May 2001 graduate of Denton High School, she is majoring in elementary education at UNT with a goal toward a master's degree in special education. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Christian Sorority. She is employed as a production assistant by Eagleton Photography in Denton. The groom is a 2001 graduate of Ryan High School and a general studies major at UNT, with a field of concentration in music, marketing and sociology. He is a member of Beta Upsilon Christian Fraternity. He is a promotions assistant with 94.9 FM KLTY, Salem Communications in Irving, Texas, and plans to work in the Christian music industry.
