Post Office Cleanup Week May 16 to 21

Postmaster Bob Bell today announced that the week of May 16 through May 21 will be Post Office Cleanup Week nationally.

Locally, mailboxes will be cleaned and repaired where necessary, new posts will be installed where needed, and post offices cleaned generally.

In cooperation with the national program this year, rural box holders will be urged to place all rural mail boxes on the right side of the roads, in the line of travel of the rural carriers.

It has been found that many traffic hazards have arisen by rural carriers having to cross and recross highways and stop on the wrong side of the roads.
