Sunday, May 22, 2005

Nevada High School arts sponsor Kelly Gray joined students Kayla Grant, Kortni Gossett, Katie Rodick and Blake Gazaway at the Nevada Public Library Monday painting the windows to display the theme of the summer reading program, "Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds." Enrollment for the program starts on May 24. The program is for students who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade. Students (Lords and Ladies) will meet a knight in shining armor and his lovely lady, who will teach all in attendance a medieval dance on June 1, at 2 p.m. Each student will receive a reading log to record each book read during the summer along with a gold crown, each time a reader reaches a goal, the reader will receive a jewel to adorn the crown. Activities that deal with the Middle Ages will be held each Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. All those who complete their goal will be invited to the "Night of the Round Table."
