Robert Lee "Bob" Seaver

Robert Lee "Bob" Seaver, the son of Carlton and Annabelle (Mays) Seaver, was born June 18, 1930, in Fort Scott, Kan., and passed away on June 7, 2005, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, at 74 years of age.

Mr. Seaver served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Glenna Morrison and she preceded him in death in 1996. He later married Carol Brokob on Sept. 5, 1997, in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Bob was involved in amateur baseball, a member of the 1956 Nevada Red Sox team (state champions who went on to Nationals). He coached for American Legion Baseball and also Little League Baseball. Mr. Seaver started Bob's Drive-in and was the owner and operator of White Grill for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Elks No. 564, Masonic Lodge 303 AF & AM of Nevada, and was also a member of Mirza Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home; one son, Lynn Seaver and his wife, Brenda, of Nevada; one step daughter, Ilene Lanham and her husband, Shan, of Nevada; one brother, Carlton Seaver Jr., of Fort Scott, Kan.; one sister, Maxine Clark, of Fort Scott, Kan.; four grandchildren, Chris, Jeremy, Ryan and Tyler; one step granddaughter, Briannah; and one great-grandchild, Drake. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Seaver; and one sister, Evelyn Gates.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 11, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with John Nichols officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Newton Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, with a Masonic Service beginning a 7:45 p.m. at the chapel.
