Diana Lee Faith

Diana Lee Faith, 73, Kansas City, formerly of Nevada, died Monday, June 27, 2005, at Blue River Care Center, Kansas City, Mo., following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Cushing, Okla., to Joseph D. Stone and Norene Coyle Stone.

Diana was born in Cushing, Okla., raised in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Nevada High School in 1949. Following graduation, she attended Draughon Business College. She worked for a time for her father at the Stone Appliance Store. Later, she served for a number of years as the Probate Magistrate Clerk at the Vernon County Court House. She moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1985, where she worked as a real estate agent. She remained in Kansas City until her passing. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Nevada, the Democratic Women's Club, and the Order of Eastern Star, Nevada. She was an avid cook and a wonderful mother and caregiver.

Survivors include one daughter, Janet Guthrie and husband, Mark, Nevada; one son, Jim Faith and wife, Tricia, Wichita, Kan.; five grandchildren, Ron Faith, Olathe, Kan., Lana Newman and husband, Craig, Olathe, Kan., Erica Smith and husband, Travis, Olathe, Kan., Marci Guthrie, Overland Park, Kan., and Marcus Baysinger, Wichita, Kan.; five great-grandchildren, Phoenix Bryant, Ray Faith, Beth Faith, Olivia Newman, Sam Newman; and one half-sister, Peggy Stone, Monett, Mo.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, July 1, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. The family receives friends Thursday, June 30, 7-8 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

Per her wishes, memorials may be given to the Melinda Guthrie Scholarship Fund in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
